maxiclave® drive

Technical specifications

  • Reactor volume: Interchangeable 0.5 and 1.0 L vessels
  • Pressure range: −1 bar (full vacuum) to 200 bar
  • Temperature range: −10 to 300 °C
  • Reactor material: Stainless steel; Hastelloy® available as an option
  • Stirrer drive: cyclone 075 dc magnetic drive with 75 N·cm torque

The maxiclave® drive is a stirred laboratory pressure reactor for research processes requiring mechanical mixing at high pressure, high temperature or both. It combines interchangeable 0.5 and 1.0 L reactor vessels with a cyclone 075 dc magnetic stirrer drive.

The system is designed for chemical research and process-development tasks such as hydrogenation and other gas–liquid reactions, catalyst testing, polymerisation and work with supercritical fluids. The magnetic stirrer drive provides 75 N·cm of torque, while external heating is provided by a laboratory hot plate, bath or electric heating sleeve.

Magnetic stirrer drive

The stirred version is equipped with a cyclone 075 dc magnetic stirrer drive delivering 75 N·cm of torque. The integrated drive distinguishes the maxiclave® drive from the non-stirred maxiclave® configuration and provides mechanical agitation of the reaction medium.

External heating options

The interchangeable reactor vessels are unjacketed and are therefore heated externally. They can be heated on a laboratory hot plate, in a water bath, oil bath or low-melting alloy bath such as a Wood’s metal bath, or with an electric heating sleeve.

Materials for different process conditions

The reactor is manufactured from stainless steel, with Hastelloy® available as an optional material. For processes involving harsh chemicals, an optional PTFE insert can be used to improve corrosion resistance.

Vessel and cover handling

An optional stand is available to simplify handling of the reactor vessel and cover plate during preparation and operation.
